7 Main Tips For Decorating Aquarium-Part 2

Tip# 5
Plants are the only living elements in the aquarium decor. (We will not consider corals for the moment since a reef environment is very complex.)

When it comes to choosing your plants, you must have already thought about the color combination you want, for example by contrasting dark green or red plants with plants with pale green leaves of different shapes. You can put a reddish giant Vallisneria in the background, a plant cover composed of a robust cryptocoryne nevelli green in the foreground, in addition to a composition of driftwood in the middle. The giant Vallisneria (Vallisneria gigantea) grows to the surface and provides the diffused lighting that Cryptocorynes need.

Use this information as an example to prepare for the height of the plants and to help you choose the best place to install them. Information on the plants, the size they will reach and their lighting needs are available in large quantities. So be sure to include this information in your choice.

Tip # 6
Imagine and feel free to watch images and videos of natural biotopes.
You will see that in nature, structures, including trees and branches, often fall into the water and dot the surface. I have often seen many dead trees across rivers in Colombia. The fact is that you can include natural elements in your aquarium decorations to create a unique environment that is perfect for fish. In addition, much freshwater fish are more comfortable when the surface is covered, and those that tend to jump will not do as much. The aquariums without cover benefit enormously.

Tip# 7
If you are wondering where to find rocks and pieces of wood, do not risk and visit your local pet store to buy natural ornaments. Not only are the ornaments sold safely because they are not exposed to any contaminants, but you will also know if they have an impact on the hardness and pH of the water, such as gravel and rocks. That's it, you're ready. Keep these tips in mind when thinking about the type of environment you want, and take your time to do everything right. Patience is the key. Set up your aquarium and turn it on a week or two before adding the fish.

7 Main Tips For Decorating Aquarium-Part 1

Creating the indoor environment of a new aquarium can only be synonymous with pleasure for any aquarist. That said, it's important to think about it before you get into this installation, since it must be appropriate for the specimens you want. It is obvious that you must love the decoration of the aquarium, but it is equally important that it meets the needs of the species that will live there.

Below are some essential tips that will help you create the dream waterscape to keep your fish long.

Tip # 1
The size and dimensions of the aquarium are important.
However, even if the popular "all or nothing" expression can be applied to the purchase of an aquarium, table aquariums or small aquariums are also to be considered for types of fish of certain sizes. Make sure you know the needs and behaviors of the desired fish to get a big enough aquarium.

Pay particular attention to fish behavior, as some small species allow, for example, only one male in the aquarium because of their aggressive and territorial nature. In addition, it is very easy to create a bulky decor in a small aquarium; try to make a central ornament that you can complement with your decor. Indeed, simplicity prevails in this case.

Tip # 2
To avoid frequent pitfalls, be sure to follow the following steps while setting up your aquarium.
First of all, it is absolutely necessary to thoroughly rinse the gravel, natural ornaments and any other object that you want to add to the aquarium. Then create the structure of your decor, fill half of the aquarium with water, then plant your plants.
Before filling the aquarium, do not forget to put a plate at the bottom so that the water also spreads and that the force of the water does not ruin all the creative efforts that you have deployed.

Tip # 3
When decorating your aquarium, it's important to have a clear idea of what kind of fish you want to keep.

For example, some large fish, such as discus, prefer to eat at the bottom of the aquarium. They, therefore, require an open and clear environment whose fine substrate, such as sand, allows the food to settle to the bottom; coarse gravel or rocks do not suit them.

Large-sized fish that like to dig and uproot plants often come from natural habitats filled with rocks and wood and containing very few living plants. Their aquarium environment should therefore preferably contain floating plants.

Tip # 4
Most of the time, a background is recommended, because, in addition to creating a finished look, its solid color offers a constant contrast highlighting fish, plants, corals, decor ...

If you are using a background of an aquatic scene, try matching some of the elements in your aquarium with those in the background, or highlighting it with matching aquarium decorations. The illusion of depth of the three-dimensional background creates a very impressive result.

Part 2: Choosing Vacuum Cleaner for Animals

There are two types of turbo-brushes:
The large turbo-brushes, sometimes called "  maxi turbo-brushes  ": they have a width close to that of standard brushes (about 30 cm). They are designed for floor cleaning and cover large areas without wasting time.
The mini turbo-brushes, which are smaller: they are intended for the cleaning of sofas, cushions, curtains, bedspreads, etc ... Light and manageable, they facilitate the extraction of animal hair on the furniture or all objects Fabric.

 Xiaomi mi vacuum

If you own a lot of rugs or carpets, and an animal that loses its hair, the turbo brush is an almost essential accessory. The mini turbo brush is a small accessory that can also be practical when the traditional long suckers and soft brushes are not enough.

Finally, this list of accessories would not be complete without the grooming brushes, which are designed to brush and vacuum directly the hairs of your favorite animal.

This type of accessories is rarer (and requires a very patient and cooperative animal!), But allows to suck the hair on the point of falling, directly on the coat, and therefore before they scatter in your home.

A classic example is the Dibea Groom brush, which can fit on the Dyson brand vacuum cleaners.

3.The sound level
The sound level of a vacuum cleaner is always an important choice criterion, and it becomes even more so when you have animals. Vacuums too noisy indeed have a tendency to terrify dogs and cats, so do not add more.

It is now mandatory for manufacturers to indicate the noise level of their products on energy labels.

Good pet vacuums have a sound level below 70 dB, which is more bearable for everyone (including humans!).

There are more bagged vacuum cleaners than bagless vacuum cleaners in this category, so most "special animal" models work with bags.

4.Level of filtration and hygiene
When you have a pet, it is best to choose a vacuum cleaner with a high level of filtration to purify the air. This is even more true for people with allergies or asthma since the hair and dust brought home by your little companion can carry allergens and bacteria.
To help you in your choice, the level of dust filtration is information indicated in the energy label. The best models, rated A, usually have a HEPA filter.

Some pet vacuum cleaners such as Xiaomi mi vacuum are additionally equipped with odor filters, which is important to avoid the bad smell of animals that can appear over time.

For reasons of hygiene, it is also necessary to avoid coming into contact with its dust when emptying the bag or the tank.

For this, good pet vacuum cleaners have an automatic closing system of the bag when you open the hood, to prevent the accidental release of dust (for models with bags), or a system allowing the opening of the tray at the touch of a button , so you do not have to touch the contents of the tray (for models without bags).

Part 1: Choosing Vacuum Cleaner for Animals

For owners of pets, an additional criterion must be taken into account when choosing a vacuum cleaner: it must be adapted to your small companions. Several brands are beginning to find specialized models for the aspiration of animal hair.

Attention, all vacuum cleaners marketed under evocative names like "Animal Care" or "Cat & Dog" are not necessarily perfectly adapted to this task.

Conversely, one should not automatically eliminate a smart vacuum cleaner that would not make clear its ability to suck animal hair in his name, but that would offer interesting features.

Smart Vacuum Cleaner

How to choose a vacuum cleaner suitable for animals:
1.A quick reminder of the performance
It is not because you are looking for a Smart Vacuum Cleaner that you have to forget the classic criteria that make a vacuum cleaner a good model. Whatever your need, good suction performance is essential.

If you have not already read it, you will find in our general buying guide all the important points in choosing a good vacuum cleaner.

In summary, the energy label that is mandatory today provides clear information on the performance of a vacuum cleaner, in addition to energy efficiency two very useful points:

The cleaning performance on carpets, rated from A to G.
The cleaning performance on hard floors, rated from A to G.

This information is based on tests under conditions controlled by a regulation, and thus allow you to have reliable information to compare the vacuum cleaners which interest you between them.

These notes allow the first selection of smart vacuum cleaners depending on the types of floors in your home.

2.Accessories for picking up animal hair
Good suction power is essential, but it is not always enough to pick up animal hair that nestles everywhere, especially in carpets and rugs. To facilitate the collection of these dog or cat hair, the majority of pet vacuum cleaners have at least one suction head with a mechanized brush.

This is most often a turbo brush, which is driven by the airflow. One can also find even if it is rarer an Electro-brush, which is set in motion by an electric motor: a separate electrical cord connects to the sled to provide the power supply.

In any case, the brush in motion makes it possible to thoroughly clean the tissues and to extract both dust and animal hair. They are sometimes self-detangling, which can be useful for the aspiration of hairs or long hair.

The Laser Pointer for Cats: Ideal Toy or Real Danger?

I was tempted some time ago by the automatic laser designed specifically for cats. I inquired at best before and I decided to get it.

Know that it will cost you around 2.8 € for the small model: powerful laser pointer!

It is, of course, indicated that even if the lasers are dangerous for the eyes, this one is specially designed with a low intensity not to damage the eyes of your cat.
So I was very excited about the idea, and really happy when I received it!
here is a preview of what this gives:

All this is fine because we do not see what condition it makes them after using a laser pointer for cats! We do not see once the cat gets the laser in the eye, nor the reflections in the eyes of the cat when you have tiles!

Mine was in a funny state after only 5 minutes of play: hyperventilation, open mouth and tongue hanging with eyes turning in all directions to find the light beam: powerful blue laser! Of course, he loved that! But what does it become after a few years?

And as I tiled, as soon as I pointed the radius to the ground, I could see the ray reflect right in the eyes of my cat: namely that any laser is dangerous to the eyes! Even at very low intensity, repetition of play sessions only makes it even more dangerous to use.

Why risk so many problems just to play "easily" with her cat? Because the problem is there: the fenientize masters to take half an hour a day sitting to play his cat!

Here it's simple, just put the laser pointer for cats on a corner of furniture or even on the floor and let the timer do its job! Personally, I will never leave my cat unattended with this 500mw green laser toy!

Finally, I weighed the pros and cons, and I think it's my turn to take my precious time to play with my cat because there are enough cat toys! And it's so much more fun to see her cat play with real toys (ah I dare not imagine my dismay when I have children who prefer to play the console when the weather is nice outside ...) in a natural way with his mouse (plastic)

The icing on the cake: on the packaging of the toy, it is written (in English) that you must be careful with the use of the laser because it is dangerous! Yes Yes, it is true!

No more hesitation I returned the laser and I was fully refunded ( withdrawal period when you buy remotely) and I really do not recommend this ultra automated machine noisy and very very dangerous for both eyes and health your cat's mental!

How to Relax A Cat?

Looking for tips to de-stress and relax your cat? Cats, because of their wild and fleeting origin, even though they are very sociable and affectionate animals can be very stressed and become extremely nervous at the slightest change. To avoid all these negative effects in your pet, we will explain to you how to relax a cat and take care of their well-being.

Steps to follow:
1.Cats love to do their thing, eat and drink peacefully. So you must install their litter, their bowl in places not frequented. Specifically, litter must be far from where it eats and drinks, as its sense of smell may associate needs with food and prevent it from eating.
In addition, you must give it food every day and that food must be clean and fresh, just like water. Any changes in this regard can make your cat very nervous and can cause unwanted behavior.

2.If your cat is a little nervous, never show him anything that will bring out something positive for him, it will only make him more nervous. If your cat has been the king of the house for a long time, it may not be a good idea to house a new pet under your roof, or in this case, you have to go slowly and patiently for your two animals.
Take the time to make the presentations and give your specially designed diet the calm before it faces any changes. On the other hand, you should avoid leaving your cat in the company of other animals or strangers, if he is not used to it because it will be for him an additional source of stress.

3.The best way to treat a nervous cat is to spend time with him. You are his favorite human and you are the person who can more caress him, give him a massage and play with him to relieve his stress with a laser pointer for cats. A cat certainly does not need you to walk but it needs your company, love and moments of pleasure. Playing with your cat every day, especially if he does not have playmates, is very important to stimulate him well: this routine will allow him to spend himself and distract him from his cat problems.
Pay attention to him, brush his hair, talk to him, caress his back, reward him, let him sit by your side when you read or watch TV. There are many moments you can spend with your cat that allow you to forge a strong bond with him and make your pet feel loved and safe.

4.If your cat is constantly stressed, talk to your veterinarian because a nervous cat can suffer serious health problems. They can become depressed, stop eating, change their behavior and this can even have consequences on their immune system thus making them the target of many diseases.
Do not leave your cat nervous and contact a professional if you think it is necessary.
